Concert: Time and Eternity in Bach and Buxtehude

In the vocal music of Johann Sebastian Bach and Dieterich Buxtehude, mourning and loss—experiences they themselves faced during their lives—occupy a central place. Yet alongside the sorrow that accompanies these themes stand consolation, faith, and the hope of eternal life.

Bach and Buxtehude composed magnificent cantatas inspired by this subject matter, works of timeless beauty. A selection of their finest compositions on this theme is brought together in this unique programme.

This is a rare opportunity to hear this exquisite music performed by one of the world’s leading ensembles in this field. Ton Koopman and the ABO&C are seldom heard in the Netherlands, and this programme will not be performed in Amsterdam or Utrecht.

It can be experienced exclusively—and only once—in Zwolle.
