Ton Koopman about the Johannes Passion on Youtube

Ton Koopman explains via Youtube his vision and thought (in Dutch) about the 'Johannes Passion" of J.S. Bach, a work that he has performed over a hundred times in concert!

Koopman will, of course also perform this work again this year around Easter time. On April 9 & 10 he will give a concert in de Westerkerk in the Netherlands and after that the tour starts and Koopman and his Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir will go to Vienna, Barcelona, Luzern, Aix en Provence, Pamplona, Valencia, Lisbon, Milano, Lyon and Paris to perform this masterpiece!
